Reporting on Clientless Users

Hi

When you create a clientless user you specify a name and ip address.

My question is why is there no reference at all to that information in reporting or live connections?

All my users have to be clientless but i cannot get any usage information at all out of the XG, very frustrating and a huge minus for the product. One of the major selling points is reporting but that reporting is woefully incomplete.

When will the XG include reporting for clientless users??

Before you ask, yes i have the latest firmware.

  • Hi Jon,

I recreated this in my local lab and I can see the Clientless Users in the Live User tab as well as the Live Connection tab. I am yet to generate traffic through this user to reflect into the reports but I am sure it will be accounted. What is the firmware version? Can you also show me a picture of the User-based firewall rule?

    Thanks

  • To clarify

There is no usage info for clientless users anywhere, useless to me.

  • I checked the configurations of your XG firewalls, in the Clientless Firewall Rule under the Identity section, uncheck "Exclude this user activity from data accounting". Alongside, you have filters set to NONE in this rule, when you define NONE; the proxy will not evaluate the traffic and categorization will not happen, which means no reporting!

Set the Filter(s) Action to Allow All. The reports will be generated in some time. Also, I can see Clientless Users in the Current Activity section. I will DM you the screenshots.

    Thanks
