I'm a bit of a newbie to networking, trying to learn (all I can do is configure NICs and forward a port on a consumer router, but I have an IT background). Here's what I want to do:
I want to create a single subnet used by both a wireless network via an AP15 (port 3) and a wired port (port 4). Ideally both on the same zone, but I guess it doesn't matter because I could create a duplicate zone if needed. The idea being they will work with things like AirPrint and Bonjour that require broadcast/multicast (layer 2 I think? VLAN bridging is layer 3 from what I read).
I have been able to create separate networks and they both work fine, but I'm in over my head trying to make the wifi and wired lan appear as one. I've fooled around with bridges but haven't gotten it to work.
This is a basic home setup and I don't have any fancy rules or policies set up, so I'm looking for the easiest and cleanest way to accomplish the above even if it means resetting my XG.
