Traffic in and Traffic Out on the rule

Hi,

We have an XG firewall with SFOS 16.05.7 MR-7.

Just want to be sure what is intended as traffic "in" and "out" in the firewall rule counters.

Can you explane how to read this data?

For example:

If I have a rule with Source zone LAN and Destination Zone WAN

- "in" is the traffic coming in the LAN zone?

- "out" is the traffic coming out the LAN zone?

Thank you for your support

  • Andrea,

IN means download traffic (in your case LAN to WAN are the downloaded traffic requested by LAN devices from WAN zone).

OUT means upload traffic (in your case LAN to WAN are the requests traffic initiated by LAN devices and sent to WAN).
