Since MR7 Streaming blocks randomly

Hi All,

since MR7, the same streaming ites I use since years, now they have issue. The streaming blocks continuosly and I need to reload the page. Creating a firewall rule "any any" makes the streaming working with no issue.

Till MR6 no issue so far.

Quite annoying!

  • There are no changes in 16.5 MR7 Web (that I know of) that would affect streaming video.

There are several changes in 17 that may improve streaming audio and video.

  • Thanks Michael.

At home I do not use streaming a lot but studying material are on streaming video and some cartoon I like to watch sometime. Both are having issue since MR7. No changes so far on XG.

    For example:

    http://thesimpsonita.altervista.org/stagioni/stagione-16.html

Try to reproduce one episode and at the half way it blocks for minutes (4/5 minutes). Creating an "any rule" with no IPS, decrypt and scan, no web, will make the episode go smooth with no interruption.

I am using real AV scanning, IPS and decrypt and scan. Till MR6 it was working great.

For the studies material, I cannot share the link because credentials are required.

    Regards

  • I cannot get the videos here (says there are too many downloads).  I'm not sure, but I think this is backed by Google Video, which is effectively YouTube.

In any case, the behavior you describe (start playback, it plays for several minutes, pauses several minutes, then plays) does not "feel" like a Web Proxy issue.  Or more specifically - not a Web Proxy streaming video problem.  I'm wondering if there is a different issue and this is just a symptom.
