App control, don't block video sites

in order to prevent other video content, use a web filter and block all video categories.

Ok, I know.

I'm testing the app control for block of websites without webfilter, in Sophos UTM 9 it works.

The app control blocked social networking, in XG firewall.

Logs of XG, show youtube and vimeo blocked, but the access these websites in browser it works, without any blocked.

Aditya Patel or sachingurung will follow the case. XG and UTM are using different web filtering engine.

Hi, 

Take SSH to the XG and go to option 4. Device Console and execute the command:

show ips-settings

Show us the output of the executed command. Check #1 in my TB guide and check if traffic is forwarded by the same fw-rule which has the filter policies defined.

Is it video vs social media?  Or is it http vs https?

If you want application control to work over https then port 443 must go over the web proxy.  You need to have a Web Policy selected (such as Allow All) not None so that port 80 and 443 go through the proxy.  If the block is based on the domain (such as Youtube Website) then it will work without HTTPS decryption.  However if the block is based on the path (such as Youtube Video Streaming) then you need to have HTTPS decryption on.
