XG and STAS removing previously imported groups

Hi all,

I have an XG and we use STAS to import groups from AD.

I have changed the AD structure and I no longer wish to import those groups but I cannot find a way to remove them from STAS as they have been previously added.

How can I stop importing those groups?

No facility to edit or untick etc?

  • Hi ,

As per the behavior of XG, it would authenticate through a query to an AD . So the group association will be collected and if it does not exist on XG it will import these groups. This has nothing to do with STAS as XG will pull the information of authenticated users from STAS.

There is an alternative solution but not recommended,

Go to an Authentication > Service > Firewall authentication method.

Select local and push it on the top most position. The users on XG with their respective group should remain unchanged.

Let me know if that works for you.

  •  Thanks Aditya,

Will this allow me to delete all the groups I no longer have / use?

Another alternative would be to delete the STAS servers from the XG and then re create them and set to only import the new groups - however after hours so users are not impacted.

    Would that work?

  • Hi Ian ,

Yes , but you may, But the later is suggested as it would be convenient to add new users and manage passwords using ADS.
