HBO Nordic streaming not working after the other day

Hi

After the other day HBO Nordic streaming stopped working or working purely.

Is there anybody who has made an exclude just like for Netflix?

  • Hi Moeller,

If you are able to find the destination URLs that Nordic connects to then create an FQDN based firewall rule for the destination URLs and keep the Web & Application action as "NONE". You can also find the URLs in the drop packet capture for the source IP address. Refer, #1.2 in my troubleshooting guide.

Refer, How to Configure FQDN Host in Sophos Firewall and place the rule on the TOP with "match known users" unchecked.

    Thanks

  • Hi Sachin

The problem isnt only HBO its Netflix also, even though Netflix has been excluded from scanning. Its sounds like a bug, cant see anything being blokked on netflix.

If I change the AV scanning it helps, but that doesn't make sense Netflix is excluded.

Its a recurring issue... HBO worked last Sunday but after AV engine was updated Monday HBO stopped working. Tried everything and now Netflix sucks.

I'm I the only one having these streaming issues?

Will try to get the urls but if a exclude doesn't work whats the point?

Btw I followed the Netflix exclude from Sophos and it was working fine until today (maybe yesterday didn't watch netflix)

     Thanks

  • Let us know if Netflix works, it could be a glitch on the server end. Did you find any drops in the drop-capture I suggested you in my previous comment? Alongside, do a manual pattern update, could be an issue related to the AV patterns.

    Thanks

  • Netflix is not working properly anymore, and no didn't find any drops. Its not the same experience on every device so it looks like the exception isn't applied 100%. On windows the netflix app works fine, loading quick but on android it takes a bit longer. But on a tv it stops at 25% for a while and then slowly goes up to 99 and starts.

Did try to disable and enable it again to see if there was a general problem.

Av is updated daily, so updating them manually doesn't change the update time.

  • After the av was updated a couple of hours ago, it started working again.

This again support that theres something wrong with the web exclude and the av scanning.
