I am trying to activate my Sophos home license and but it keeps saying I do not have an internet connection and will not move any further. If I SSH in I have an IP from my ISP and everything looks fine except I cannot ping out to any internet address. I can ping localhost and anything on the LAN.
For activation the pc you are using to register needs to have an internet link and not the xg firewall itself. What i would suggest doing is to connect your wifi router's LAN to the WAN port of the XG firewall. then connect your laptop via an ethernet cable to the LAN port of the XG firewall and give it an ip on the 172.16.16.1/24 subnet (172.16.16.10 255.255.255.0 should work). Then have your laptop wirelessly connect to the wifi being broadcasted by the router. So now your XG will have an internet connection (its behind the router), your laptop will have an internet connection as well (you are wirelessly connected to the router) and you will also have the connection to the XG firewall since you are wired to its LAN. In your present scenario, its not that the XG firewall has no internet connection, its just that there is no firewall rule in place that allows connections from LAN to WAN, which means any device connected locally to the firewall will have no internet connection.

I tethered my phone to my PC to get it internet, I can now access the internet through the phone tether. While being connected over the LAN to the XG to access it's config page. In this configuration, my PC and the XG should have internet their own ways (through my fiber ISP, and my PC through my cell provider.)
attempt to activate the XG again and it still gives me the error saying i have no internet connection.
I also SSH'd in and tried to do a command line activation, which also failed with the no internet connection error.
From the XG SSH i can ping anything on my LAN, but nothing on the internet.
From my LAN i can ping the XG, but nothing on the internet.
I also went into my sophos account and registered my serial number.
