Error when trying to run firmware update

I am running XG software on a white-box build. Specs can be provided if needed, but it is mostly newer Intel hardware.

Seemingly since I installed XG on the white-box build, I have not been able to complete firmware updates through the software. I have always had to blow everything away and start fresh.
The only thing I have been able to find that might be causing this error is during boot (right after firmware selection) the following text:
"EBDA is big; kernel setup stack overlaps LILO second stage"

This does not affect booting the current firmware, although it is still displayed during a reboot.

Does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be appreciated!
