Trying to install XG135 appliance but not going past the Basic Setup

Connected the LAN port to a manually configured PC. Connected the WAN port to a cable modem (swapped the original working firewall). Logged into the XGFW and in Basic Setup, used DHCP to assign an IP address. I do see a notification saying it was successful but nothing happens. I cannot ping 4.2.2.2 from the LAN PC. I cannot go past the basic setup. Any ideas on how to go past this?

    Ramesh,

    make sure to assign a proper ip to your PC (172.16.16.17/255.255.255.0) and make sure to reboot your cable modem. Mac-address issue.

    Yes I have a static IP assigned to my PC on that subnet and I am able to login to XG with the default password. The first thing I need to do is a basic Setup. This is where I selected DHCP and that is it. I do see a prompt that it was successful after I save the changes. But cannot go beyond that. I have restarted my cable modem multiple times. Restarted by XG with the power switch on the back. Still no DHCP IP address is assigned to the WAN interface hence I cannot go beyond the basic setup.

    When I was experimenting with XG, I got stuck in a situation that seems much like yours.   The web interface seemed to prompt repeatedly for network settings and then complain that they were not valid.   I solved the problem by logging into the shell interface (initial password admin) and using the menus there, which I found much easier to follow.  

    Eventually, I understood that the basic setup was asking me for network settings for more interfaces than I planned to use.  I think it is unwilling to proceed unless I configured at least two, but it has options for four.   I wanted to configure just a single interface initially so that I could explore the interface.   The shell menu also provides a simple interface for a few other functions, such as changing the shell password and rebooting the device, so it is good to understand its uses.   Once I completed the basic setup from the shell, including two network interface definitions, I was able to use the web interface for everything else.

    Thank you Douglas. My issue was resolved by doing the following. I plugged my XGFW port2 to a available port on my existing firewall and got a DHCP from the firewall. I was able to then register my XGFW and once that was done with the wizard, I unplugged and reconnected to my Cable Modem and power cycled both the Cable Modem and the XG. This time Port2 got a DHCP IP and everything is working as expected.
