Rebooted XG 310, cannot access Admin or User Webconsole

Hello all,

So The title basically states it all. Rebooted my XG310 firewall via the admin webconsole (I haven't made any changes, just rebooted). The firewall is working fine, policies are in action, web filtering is working, etc, but I can't access the Admin webconsole on port 4444 or the user portal. I'm getting "Connection refused" in Chrome. Tried other browsers, same. Tried from different workstations, same. Tried shutting down, rebooting again, still can't access.

I waited like half hour, thought maybe it was just still initializing. Does it take long? Any ideas? How can I get back in?

Thanks!

-Eddie

  • Hi Eddie,

This seems a serious issue, I would recommend you to contact support.

    Troubleshoot steps:

Access the device via telnet or SSH.

Run the command on the console.     console>tcpdump 'port 4444

Try to access the UI from your browser. https://<XG interface address>:4444

check the traffic on the console and post the results.

You may also try to run the command console> system appliance_access enable and try to access the device again. If it does not work then disable the appliance access via the command console>system appliance_access disable and wait for further instructions from support.

  • I just tested without using proxy.

    In sophos ssh console, type

    console> system appliance_access enable

then that PC can access sophos web console.

then I disable it and test again.

its fails and unable to connect.

any idea what is the problems??
