Clients via DHCP relay agent

It is possible to assigns IP addresses to clients which are not in the network of the attached interface?

One interface on my XG is connected to a larger network. The switches in the network are configured with ip helper addresses, i.e. relay in Sophos terms.

However, when I trying to do this, I get errors about not being able to because the subnets don't match the subnet that the interface is in.
