problems with email mta

I am having problems with emails going out, I updated the XG 310 to the lastest version.

 

I am on hold with support, has anyone had any problems all the sudden with email mta?

    I'm facing exact same problem currently running 16.05.4 MR-4  -  mail delivery works fine

    Upgrading to MR5 all incoming mails stuck in mail spool with error message "Failed".

     

    Some strange behavior I've found is when firewall receiving incoming mail a log entry in firewall module appears saying traffic is denied by fw-policy.

    Destination Mailserver and firewall are in same subnet so I don't understand why traffic from sophos to mailserver is blocked.

    I was running the XG 310 in transparent mode and if the firewall rule for email mta gets modified you can switch to legacy mode then back to email mta and the firewall rule will come back.

     

    I always test sending email from my exchange server to gmail and back to make sure emails flow back and forth.

     

    make sure firewall rule for email is on the very top in case another rule is tripping you up...
