cannot use uploaded WC certificate for admin access

hello,

i have an XG 16.5 MR4 and we bought a commercial wildcard certificate for the entire company domain and i can't select it for use.

first i uploaded the cert, it processes OK(the only thing is that the authority column marks a fail with "expected issuer xxxxx" although the value matches the issuer in the cert).

i then go to admin/admin settings and the only certificate in the dropdown is the "appliancecertificate".

edit: i can't even select it for SSL, checked after this post:https://community.sophos.com/products/xg-firewall/f/authentication/75698/how-to-change-the-admin-certificate

any ideas?

  • i finally solved it myself, turns out the system was not taking the certificate as valid as it was expecting a different certification chain.

So i had to first import he intermediate certificate chain/authority and then readded the certificate. After that it worked.
