Verify Sender’s IP Reputation

I currently have a situation where on of my SP`s has been blacklisted, due to weak password by a user and therefore spam mail being generated.

I need to whitelist this ip but I tried it both under 1. Protect -> Email -> General settings -> Spam Check Exceptions

as well as 2. Protect -> Email -> Policies  where I created a whitelist with their ip as per https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/123258

this post however was in 2015 and could not find any post later than that.

Im running SFOS 16.05.4 MR-4

Any assistance will be appreciated

  • Willem,

if your ISP has been blacklisted, you will not receive any email because as soon the remote mail servers try to send you an email, the ISP MX record will appear in blacklists so the connection will be rejected. Talk with your ISP and fix the issue with them.

  • thanks for the response

I might not have put it clear (sorry)

the issue isn`t with my ISP but with one of the external system providers of one of our systems.

when they send the mail the firewall reject the mail saying that their ip is blacklisted.

the question therefore is if there is way for me to ad them to a whitelist or exception group to allow their ip irrespective of the fact they the have been blacklisted.
