you can filter Email using XG into MTA mode by:

• editing the current MX record to XG WAN IP
• Inside the XG forward the email to your external IP server

For the outboud email, you have to forward email from your email server to XG MTA IP (so the traffic is filtered).

i think for outbound you mean inbound. Cannot point all mail to the XG, not all users are behind the XG

I am new to this whole concept so please explain what you mean in words i can understand

Hi

I found a "How-to" guide.

It says switch to MTA mode and a firewall policy is automatically created.

The box arrived in MTA mode but the firewall rule was not there. Had to switch to legacy and back for the rule to be created. Seems like the default as MTA is only half done.
