CAA and closing laptop lid

Dear All,

since the MR4, now the CAA does not disconnect anymore (apparently) and if you have enabled Save Password option, however the behaviour is still the same. As soon you close the lid and you reopen it after a while, internet does not work....it starts to work after 2 minutes or if you enforce the credential.

This behaviour has been discussed in this thread previously:

but a fix does not exist yet. We would like to have a feedback from Sophos Devs if the bug has been identified and when they think to release a fix for it.

Hi Luk,

I recommend you to upgrade to MR-5 and report back. Alongside, does closing the lid causes the system to go into sleep mode? Did you try this behavior with a system with fewer processes and application on startup?

I recommend you to upgrade to MR-5 and report back. Alongside, does closing the lid causes the system to go into sleep mode? Did you try this behavior with a system with fewer processes and application on startup?

I am using a MAC Sierra 10.10.4 with MR5 and the issue persists.

Hi Luk,

Aditya Patel helped me investigating this scenario. We see a delay of 2 minutes for the Agent to reinisialize the authentication request. This is because when a user gets authenticated through Agent, there will be ping pong keep_alive message communication between the XG and the client to keep a track on user's liveliness. When you close the lid, ethernet port will be turned off which will result in disconnection. Refer the following link: support.apple.com/.../HT201714

Do you face the same issue on a Windows client? I want to verify if the initialization is an OS based issue.

Thanks sachingurung and Aditya Patel for the investigation made.

On MAC, even disabling removing the Networks used under Power Save configuration, 2 minutes must elapse before I can get Internet access back.

I will try on Windows 7 and let you know.
