tell us more about the HW your have chosen for XG. If you are using Intel as NIC you should be ok with drivers.

Hi Patric,

What issues do you face when there is a network break down?  What is the memory and CPU utilization during this time? Please show us a screenshot of the system graphs.

Take SSH to XG and go to Advance Console. Execute, "top" and show us which process takes the highest memory? Finally, post the syslog.log and tell us the exact time when the network hangs.

My new appliance is the same hardware (i7 version) and I have had no issue if it helps.

it is now clear that even my directly attached display turns black. As it seems, not only network is unavailable, but instead the whole system freezes. Do you have any idea what to do?

I think we need to reimage the appliance and do a fresh install. Do not forget to take the configuration backup before reimaging. I also suspect a corrupted hard disk.

Did you try redownloading the ISO image and then reinstall it on the same hardware. Might be a corrupted OS!

I did what you recommend this morning and a few hours later the system crashed once again.

I see the following message while booting:

Starting 16_05_4215EBDA is big: kernel setup stack overlaps LILO second stage

I do not know if this is an error or not. I couldn't find anything in this forum. But at least for other linux system it seems to be an error. Is that a message, every Sophos XG Home user can see?
