go to Network > DHCP and then create a new DHCP server where the DG is the XG or change it accordingly to your network.

thank you for your response. I am unable to access the web based utility for my firewall.

My question is, is there a way to set the lan ip address from the firewall firmware itself? I am only able to see the basic text os.

Login to the CLI and then go to Network Configuration (option 1)

Its going to show you the current IP address for the two ports. Plug in a computer to the LAN port of the firewall and assign it an IP address statically which is on the same subnet as the IP of the LAN port. You will then be able to access the firewall GUI using this computer and the IP of the LAN port. Then you can change the DHCP settings. Once you have done that you can change your computer's IP settings to DHCP and verify the dhcp settings are working or not.

Moreover, if you want to make changes to the LAN IP on the firewall itself using the CLI what you can do is keep pressing "Enter" once you have selected the Network Configuration option (basically it shows you the configuration already there). Once it has shown you all the config on the firewal, the firewall is going to ask you whether you want to make any changes to it. here you enter Y and hit enter to make changes to it. However, it will be easier to do it the way I explained in my previous reply

The CLI is showing a blank ip address for the LAN port. It asks me if I want to change it but then it goes to thank you for setting the address (showing a blank address).

Is your WAN set for dhcp?

What IP is your WAN port getting?

My WAN will get an ip address correctly. The ip is 192.168.0.101.

Can you not statically assign your computer an IP on the same subnet as your WAN and then connect to the XG using the WAN IP?

I tried that. However, I have it configured to not allow login from the WAN.

Is there no other way to change the LAN ip?
