XG not sending emails using Office 365

Have XG running SFOS 16.01.3 currently. I have setup notifications, so i receive the backup every week and notifications. However they seem to fail sending from the XG to my Office 365 email account. 

My settings are 

 Send notifications via external server 

Mail Server IPv4 Address/FQDN  -  Port

: mydomain.mail.protection.outlook.com       Port: 587

 authentication required - ticked

username: user@domain

password : pass

Connection security: STARTTLS

Certificate: Appliance certificate

 

Can anyone elaborate what is the right settings to get the notifications sent across from XG to Office 365

    Welcome to the Sophos Community.

    Mail notification is not working with the Sophos XG and it is a known issue reported under NC-6281 & NC-9106. As of now, the XG only supports AUTH plain for authentication.

  • I think Sophos needs to look at this problem (unfortunately I was hoping it would be fixed with v17).

    At this moment I have several customers working with an SG/UTM and a couple of them are already upgraded to XG. In the SG/UTM the Office 365 SMTP is working fine, however in XG I can't get it enabled.

    For customers that have to replace their SG/UTM in the future I will be considering other firewalls but Sophos because of this kind of shortage in functionality.

    Please fix it.
