Sophos XG Email Scanning with Google Apps Sync

Question

Hello everyone, 
 I configured email scanning on XG, however I don't seem to see much email scanning happening on XG logs other than few POP/S and IMAP/S connections. We use google apps for business and have google app sync ( https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gappssync ) tool with microsoft outlook for most. From what I can see, google sync tool is using MAPI protocol with google apps. So it doesn't look like XG is able to scan MAPI?

Hi PGP, 
 XG would scan standard port for POP, IMAP, SMTP and SMTPS as per RFC standard. As you are using a third party application to sync the emails between your mail server and your exchange then it would not scan the emails as the communication used is port 443 and 80 as per the URL. https://support.google.com/a/users/answer/2622308?hl=en 
 Plus the data traffic between your tool and the Google server is encrypted.
