Unable to upgrade Cyberoam to 16.05.3

Hi,

I have a Cyberoam CR15iNG that is running SFOS 16.01.1 I'm trying to upgrade the firmware to HW-SFOS_16.05.3_MR-3.SF110-183, but it has not been possible. I'm trying to upload the new firmware to a slot currently occupied by SFOS 15.01.0 MR-3, which is not active. When I upload manually (via Google Chrome browser), the process seems to take place reaching 100%, but at the end, I get logged out of the device and when I log back in, the firmware has not been uploaded. If I click the download button in the "Latest Available Firmware" section, the download stops at 90-something percent. I've tried with version HW-SFOS_16.01.3_MR-2.SF110-265 too and similar things happen.

I've looked in the log and I see the warnings "Signature disk Usage reached 100% exceeding the threshold of 90%". I'm guessing that perhaps this is why the firmware upload is failing?

The output from the console is:

console> system diagnostics show disk
Partition        Utilization(%)
===============================
configuration        21%
content              84%

Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advacnce.

  • Hi ,

    Thanks for the info. I didn't realise that the CR15iNG wasn't officially supported when it comes to SFOS. Do you think that will ever be the case? I found a Sophos FAQ document that says eventually all NG hardware will be supported.

    I find it strange that the firmware is offered for download in my account if it is not meant for my device, especially as it says "Based on your appliance information...". Thankfully, it seems to work OK.
