Sophos XG Firewall - FastPath packet optimization

As I browse features of Sophos XG firewall, I have noticed this Fastpath packet optimization https://blogs.sophos.com/2015/12/10/sophos-xg-firewall-innovations-fastpath-packet-optimization/

 

I think this is one good edge of Sophos XG firewall vs other vendor FWs.

 

 

Please feel free to share any thoughts on this, It would be highly appreciated.

    I came from the Microsoft ISA/TMG world, and after that product line was discontinued, I have been using Meraki MX firewalls for the past 3 years. Frankly I think the XG firewall is great; it reminds me a lot of TMG, and it is 100 times more advanced and 1,000 times more configurable than the Meraki's I just replaced.  Not to mention they perform much faster at a fraction of the price.  Yep, there are some rough edges, but I am very happy with the purchase and can't wait to see it continue to evolve and improve.

    Hi Bill,

     

    Thanks for the input, been waiting also for the maturity of this product. I have been through various vendor firewalls, but this one has been my focus lately. can't wait to see the next improvement for this.

     

    I hope they would beef up their support team, backend devs and take note of the feature requests that the customer's have been giving.
