SFM Template creation

Hello,

 

I have a existing XG Firewall Version 16.05.2(160). I now installed the Firewall Manager Version SFMOS 16.01.1 RC-1 and I want to create a template from this Firewall to clone the common configuration to 14 more Devices.

   

While importing the configuration, I get the Error Message "Template import from this device firmware version ist not supported"

 

 

Where do I find an overview of this kind of compaiblity issues? Which XG Version is fully supported with SFM, or at least supports the template creation.

    This is behavior of SFM. Here SFOS Firewall version 16.5  whose database version is higher then SFM v16 RC-1, so import device configuration is not supported.
     
    In SFM v16 RC-1 firmware, "Import Device Configuration" supported firmware's are up to SFOS 16.01.1(202) only.

    Hello Ravi,

     

    is there a plan for a new SFM v16.5 release?

     

    As a workaround can I export the config of my SFOS 16.05, downgrade to 16.01.1 and then import the configuration of 16.05? Then I would run the 16.01.1 Version for this customer until SFM got an update.

    Hi Patrick,

    Yes, SFM v16.5 is in pipeline but i don't have release date for the same.

    Exported config of SFOS 16.05 does not get imported in SFOS 16.01.1. If you downgrade SFOS firmware from 16.05 to 16.01.1 it will boot with factory reset configuration.

    is there any overview of the supported SFM / SFOS features in the corresponding versions? If SFM 16.05 is released, does this version fully support SFOS 16.05?

     

    If I do a downgrade of the SFOS, is the system always factory resetted? I thought at least the last running configuration is loaded.
