Setting up test PC box with XG ISO for linux

format the disk using a disk utility with no file system. Also make sure you are not using a RAID on the system.

XG is a unique ISO. There is no Windows or Linux version.

Ok, I just thought that it takes care of formatting it within the bootable iso. I went ahead and formatted it manually with no file system before booting to the usb drive, but I'm right back to waiting on formatting report partition, and it looks like it's going to take a long time again.

Anyone have any other ideas? pfSense, IPFire, IPCOP work. This just gives me period for hours

Sure, it's a Dell optiplex. i7, 10 gigs of ram, 250gb HD. The network card is a cheap dual realtek. It's not ideal, but I'm just seeing if I can test it out before we get to try out an actual XG hardware unit.
