Sophos XG v16.05.* shows firmware available alert but none are there

So everyday when I log into my XG 310 on the home page, at the bottom right, I have two alerts telling me that there is a AP firmware and a RED firmware update.  I click the alerts and I get the full alerts page that says:

So I click the "Click Here" link but nothing is listed.  I click "Update Pattern Now" and it is successful but nothing changes:

I believe this started with a 16.05 upgrade but I can't be sure.  I have another XG, a XG125W, running the same firmware (SFOS 16.05.2 MR-2) that does not have this issue.  Also comparing the versions between the XG310 and the XG125W they are all the same so I'm thinking the alerts are a bug.  Anyone else have this issue or a idea on how to fix it?  I've already rebooted the device multiple times.  I was about to reapply the 16.05.2 MR-2 firmware from a upload to see if that would do it but don't want to if its a simple fix.

  • Just to rule it out I've cleared my cache, used a different browser on my computer, then finally used a test machine that has never connected to the Sophos before and in all cases it still shows the two alerts for updates.   I tried to reapply the firmware but I get a error, assuming it sees the same firmware and won't let me.  If I click the "Alerts" link on either I get the full Alerts page which repeats the same information:

     

     

    It always says 2 minutes ago, even if I refresh the screen, but there is still nothing listed that needs updating.  It's like the two alerts were cached and now stuck.  Anyone have any ideas how to get them cleared?

  • I've opened up a support case (7139686) and will see where this goes.  I have a feeling it's something stuck that support will need to manually fix or I'll just have to wait until the next firmware upgrade.
