Did the RAM limits change for Home edition for 16.05.2 to 4GB?

Did the limits for RAM on Home edition get changed with SFOS 16.05.2 MR2? I'm only seeing 4GB after update. Still only showing 4GB after rolling back to SFOS 16.05.1 MR-1. I was seeing 6GB usable before upgrade.

  • Hi All,

Confirmed from the developers- there is no change in the limitation. Tested locally, for me the RAM allocation is intact.

Installed the ISO v16.01.3_MR-2 and then upgraded to 16.05.2 MR-2. See below:

Sophos Firmware Version SFOS 16.05.2 MR-2

    console> system diagnostics show memory

    MemTotal:        5959152 kB

    MemFree:         3527672 kB

    MemAvailable:    4231040 kB

    Buffers:           75376 kB

    Cached:           708032 kB

  • Since we have multiple reports of existing installations dropping from 6GB to 4GB after going from 16.05.1 MR-1 --> 16.05.2 MR-2, is there any diagnostic output we can provide to identify why?   Also important to note that booting back to 16.05.1 MR-1 results in 4GB, where it was 6GB before upgrade.

  • Sachin,

many users upgraded to v16.05 MR2 from MR1 version. You have to investigate on that. You did a test by starting frmo 16.01 MR2.

    Something is wrong.
