overwritten fact while installing the XG Firewall Home Edition !!

while visiting Sophos XG Firewall Home Edition   on it's Feature section four (5) features are written and last one is "And a lot more".

It's obvious people should be  given more and more features where they will be feeling more strong about SOPHOS. Like as it is said "And a lot more" type suspense is not cool.

On WHAT YOU NEED section there written "Any previous OS or files on the computer will be overwritten when installing the XG Firewall Home Edition". Hope to hear about it in details soon, please.

Thanks in Advance

  • Ra,

XG is a complete and embedded OS which installs on hw and not on another OS like windows or Linux.

A lot more? XG is plenty of feature and as ever other product must be tested to understand strengths and weaknesses.

  • @Iferrara  thank you for your reply.

You said,"XG is a complete and embedded OS which installs on hw and not on another OS like windows or Linux". I Understand and knew that.

But confusion is - XG Firewall Home Edition webpage On WHAT YOU NEED section there written "Any previous OS or files on the computer will be overwritten when installing the XG Firewall Home Edition".

It should be written more clearly like- "Any previous OS or files of  XG Firewall Home Edition on the computer will be overwritten when installing the XG Firewall Home Edition"

As about 5th feature of XG Firewall Home Edition "And a lot more" is being written, my thinking is there should be lot more features written in a very easy and attractive way for everybody (novice to IT high level expert).

    Thanks in Advance

  • I don't understand the meaning of your post. Over written does not just apply to home edition, it applies to all XG versions and previous OS applies to older versions of XG.

  • My guess is RA somehow expected the current config being migrated on install.  And he claims warnings aren't clear enough

  • I have written clearly above, hope you can understand if you feel to read with care.

    Thanks in Advance
