In order to get external email working you have to create a firewall rule LAN to WAN where smtp services are enabled. For exchange you are using MTA on XG.

Wouldn't a rule that is configured as follows take care of that requirement:

From Lan (defnied network) any time

To Wan (any network) for any service

Did you try with this rule? Also if it does not work, please post the output of drop-packet-capture "host x.x.x.x and port 25" from console.

Ok so it is working for me to send email from my various accounts without any issues from my computer, andriod phone and iPhone however the emails are not showing up in the email log.  Shouldn't they be showing up with the following auto added firewall rule?

I have confirmed I use the following ports 25, 465 and 587 for SMTP connections.

I am also going to enable POP3 and IMAP (normal and secure) scanning but I should be fine as I would be using 110 and 995 for POP3 and 143 and 993 for IMAP correct?

In your environment are you using outlook domain by Microsoft or other domain  ?
