XG85 memory issues

I have an XG85 that we purchased a couple months ago, after upgrading to 16.5 it seems it runs at least 80-85% memory, and we experience it locking up requiring a reboot, along with slowness pinging even the router from a machine.... I disabled a bunch of the services and got it down to 50% ,but this doesnt' seem right.... anyone else having this issue?

  • Hello,

i have the same Problem too. I installed a fresh XG105 with SFOS 17.06 and the CPU usage is from the beginning at 80-90% and theres NO Client connected.

It doesn´t help to stop Services.

Now i think the Services are allocating some RAM but do not use it ?

    Sorry for my bad english.

    Regards

  • Hello, I'm going through this same problem on a client, as I'm reselling Sophos.
A Sophos XG 105, in a network with 10 computers accessing the internet, the memory reaches 98% of use, sometimes gives peaks of processing, then randomly the equipment hangs, needing to turn off and on again.
This happens several times in the week and you do not have the right time, it can be during the day or at night.

If you know, tell me what I can do to resolve this definitively.

    Thank you !

  • Hi,

which version of XG are you running. I would suggest you talk to support because I think there was a fix for this issue?

  • Hello, I did this and the support level 2 even talked to my client and gave as a solution to exchange the box for an XG 115, preferably 125 or 135.
I was disappointed, because the support ends up passing to the cliner the impression that I (the reseller) sold the wrong product :(
But I did not sell it wrong, this client has at most 10 computers active on the internet during the day, there are days he has only 6 live users, before the client used Sophos UTM 9 with 2GB RAM, virtual on Vmware, always worked quietly, now with the XG 105, has these problems of locking the equipment, when it restarts, it already back consuming at least 60% of RAM, the face of the support even quoted the high consumption of the IPS, but suggested equipment exchange and the clerk does not want to do this, does not want to spend more money and rightly so because he bought a solution, believing that the same would meet.

I will try to support it with Sophos support.
