Interface route for non-WAN PPPoE connection

We have an inter-site network that is delivered via PPPoE. This is configured on eth2 of the XG router. The PPPoE interface will get an IP address of 172.16.1.16, and will have a default gateway of 180.x.x.120.

I need to route 10.0.0.0/8 and 172.16.0.0/12 down the PPPoE link, but am not confident that this will work when I deploy it.

I am adding an IPv4 Unicast Route with IP/Netmask 10.0.0.0/8, Gateway blank, Interface eth2. The XG accepts this, but if I go back and edit the route the interface becomes blank when I save it again.

When I test in my workshop (I have a PPPoE server configured), the routes do appear and seem to be correct, but I would be more confident if someone could tell me that this is a configuration that is know to work.

Thanks

James
