AFTER SHUTTING DOWN XG .. Network goes down..

Hi folks

 

 

Before turning off our XG 210 appliance everything goes into normal, Lan and wifi can connect into internet.

 

then, someone tried to turn it off and everything goes wrong... no one can connect into internet but gaining ip address, dns and  gw.

    Kunkka,

    in order to receive help, you need to explain better your network configurationa and the issue you have.

    Sophos AP are controlled by XG and if is is not available anymore, they stop to work. For the LAN, if XG is used as router on a stick or bridge, if it goes down, everything traversing it will stop to work.

    Please give us more info.

    Actually sir,

     

     

    Simple configurations are configured in XG.

     

    Simple LAN to WAN and WIFI to WAN but then when it turns off nobody can connect outside (internet).

     

    Weird experience so far.

    This is normal. If the XG is controlling the LAN to wan traffic and wifi, as soon it goes down, all traffic will be blocked (fail-close behavior).

    There are some XG appliance that comes with nic bypass circuits, but if a layer 3 device is missing, users will not be able to route traffic either.
