Problem with activation of XG Home Use Firewall

Hi Community,

 

I've a problem with my new installed XG Home Use Firewall on Vmware ESXi 6.5.

The Installation works fine, network interfaces are correctly configured. I can ping devices in my local environment, but I can't ping to the internet.

However, when I tried to acitivate my License, I get the following error Message:

Internet connectivity OK but unable to contact licensing system. This may be due to a network issue. Please check your network set up and connections and try again.

 

So if I tried to ping www.google.de via sophos cli, the system will resolve the correct IP address, but the ping won't work.

 

So If anybody here have an idea?

    make sure your VM has 2 vNICs, one connected to your internal network and one that is able to reach internet. Via CLI, you should reach Internet with no problem. Also make sure that the computer you are using to manage your XG is able to reach internet otherwise the activation will not work.
