XG Firewall Home license and Access Points

Hi,

I just upgraded from a UTM 9 device to the Sophos XG - Home platform.   I'm trying to get my Astaro Access Points to be recognized by the new firewall platform.

1. I can't find any clear info on whether Wireless is licensed in the free home platform

2. I can't find any info on whether the old Astaro AP's would be recognized by the new Sophos XG firewall.

 

Anybody tried and been successful with setting up the old Astaro AP10 or AP30 Access Points?

    Roger,

    the XG base license includes the Wi-FI now. Also the Home license, as for Astaro, includes all the modules with the limitation of (4 Core and 6 GB of RAM).

    I migrated from UTM9 to XG since v15 and I was able to use the AP10 (and I am still using it).

    Make sure you enable the Wireless Protection. See this KB:

    Also make sure the AP receives a proper ip from DHCP and you should see the AP soon.

    File this one under "Did you reboot it?"

    So in all the setup of this process, I forgot that I set a static IP on the one computer that is behind this firewall.  I totally forgot to set up a DHCP server on the LAN.  Your comment about making sure it gets an IP was the little lightbulb moment for me on this.

     

    Set up DHCP, reboot the AP and it all works great.  The wireless devices even look like they remembered the network from the ASG 9 (same SSID and p/w) and connected automatically.
