How can I improve web interface response times?

I recently setup XG on a standalone box and have been experiencing a super slow web interface. I've read about manually restarting the tomcat instance, but that really isn't helping. It's to the point where it's unmanageable. I noticed that the heap seems ridiculously low and have been trying to locate the proper xml or config file that contains the heap settings to increase it, but it seems like this is a seriously modified install of tomcat. Has anyone else tried this and can tell me where to find them or have any tips on improving the speed of the web interface?

{java} tomcat -Xmx128m -Xms12m -Xss128k <-- This seems really low to me and I would love to increase this to see if the UI improves.

I am using the ZBOX-CI323NANO w/ 4GB RAM and SSD, which from what I read should do very well. Looking at historical resources used since creation, only a few days ago, the CPU has never spiked above 20% averaging only 1-2% and the memory sits right at about 60% and never spikes more than about 62%. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

  • Greg,

What version of XG are you running?

You should not edit the internal XG value or settings.

UI is improving a lot during every new release and with v16.05 the UI is more responsive. We expect to see faster UI on v17.

I have to admit that the current interface can be faster but let's wait for other UI improvements/fixes.

    Regards
