Sophos XG85w - SSL VPN works in TCP but not in UDP

Hello,

I got a problem with a SSL VPN remote access, for now the VPN works in TCP but it is very very slow. data transers at 50ko/s with a 50mbit/s internet connection.

The VPN is configured with TCP protocol and I want to change it to UDP. When I do the change, client cannot conncect to VPN anymore.

Do you have an idea about the problem ? And why in the VPN so slow in TCP ?

Hi Rapehl,

We want to look into the sslvpn.log file to verify the reason for failure in connection. Make sure you are on the latest firmware version.

Currently, I can't show you the logs because I'm not on site of the XG firewall.

I'll check upd connection and firmware.

But now I really want to know if it's normal for a SSL VPN to be so slow...

OpenVPN show do way better in TCP mode. Testing on non-XG openvpn server, I can entirely fill up my 14Mb/s DSL bandwidth with openvpn file transfer
