Change MTU in AP55

Hi all,

 

trying to install AP55 access points connected to our Cluster Sophos XG330 here, with multiple SSID with various configurations, all of them are in separated zone configurations.

 

I have a lot of error messages from our network core switch at our firewall port where the Wifi is configured. The message is :

 

FFI: port XX-Excessive undersized/giant packets

 

Our Switch is an HP Procurve 5412.

 

Probably is an Access Point MTU too big or small problem, there is some history in the hpe forums about this.

Is there any chance to change the MTU configuration or something directly in the APs ?

    Simone,

    MTU cannot be changed on the AP. On UTM9, MTU can be changed on Wireless Network from the GUI. On XG the ifconfig does not allow to change the MTU value to something greater than 1500.

    Try your self:

    Go to Console > Option 5 > 3 and type:

    ifconfig wifiname mtu 1580

    Something that should be implemented soon.

    However the MTU, by default, shoudl be to 1500 and your switch should not complain.

    Try to disable the TOS parameter:

    ethtool -K wifiname tso off

    and see from the switch if the error persists.

    I solved it enabling jumbo frames on our WIFI VLAN .
