Captive portal redirect to a FQDN instead of the XG interface IP (for matching HTTPS commercial certificate)

I am unable to find a way to set the correct FQDN for redirecting any unknown user to the captive portal. XG will redirect by default to the specific subnet interface IP. I only found the URL to redirect the user AFTER the login to the portal.

Redirecting to the crude IP will always mismatch the HTTPS certificate

I hope I am just missing some option...

Thanks

  • Too bad even pfSense which is free does support this:

Funny thing is that from Sophos Support the workaround is to disable the HTTPS redirect for captive portal, thus showing it via normal HTTP. Too bad 16.5 does have a known issue (NC-15206) that prevents guest to self register if captive portal is set to HTTPS. This second bug does have a workaround (always from Sophos Support), which is to enable HTTPS...
