Problem on default rule

Dear All,

I have a problem with one rule present on the firewall of my customer.

After the update to the last release of the firmware the name of the rule with id: 1 (rule created with the Wizard procedure) became "null" and now it's impossible to modify/delete the rule.

Editing the rule, the field "name" is blank, if i fill it with some value and try to save the data I have no response from the page.

There is  way to rename/delete/modify that rule without reset the appliance?

Thanks in advance

Best regards

Andrea

  • Same problem here.

I just noticed this (when fw was still in 17.1.3 MR-3), have now updated to 17.5.0 GA to see if it resolved itself but it did not.

It's not possible to edit or deactivate the rule, it will give the following error message on trying to edit:

Firewall rule "{rulename}" could not be updated.

Also deleting the rule is not possible, when clicking Delete nothing happens, not even a question whether I'm sure to delete the rule.

Luk suggests to Flush device reports, but what do I actually loose when I choose this option? All history and logs gone? And how would it either fix an unnamed rule or delete it?

As this is a home install unfortunately I cannot contact Sophos and factory resetting looks like throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
