Best dns configuration with dns host entries

I have the xg as dns server configured because i need some dns host entries for my lan to use device.local instead of their ips. But when xg is the dns server sometimes resolving of websites takes some more time.  Under dns config i have static ip to my gateway (fritzbox, starts cable internet connection) and under dhcp server i have the sophos ip as dns server configured.

Is there a better way to do this?

I have no specific web filterig rules. I just want my own dns host names for my devices.

    long time ago.....from memory:

    The router advertisements sent out by fritzbox caused it.  I blocked them on L3 switch port connected to the Fritzbox.  The L3 also does the router advertisements, has proper flags configured, so additional parameters are received from DHCPv6 on windows server.  (or no IPv6 dns , so ipv4 only is used for dns).  And the L3 switch uses fritzbox as its default IPv6 gateway
