XG HOME licencing question

I've got a HOME use XG licence and ISO which I'm wanting to trial as a replacement of my UTM firewall. I'd like to do a trial install on old hardware whilst still running my Sophos UTM Firewall. Once I've got used to the XG firewall I'd like to then do a clean install onto my 'normal' firewall PC. Can I do this without running into XG licencing issues?

    Hi Luk,

    Thanks for your reply - does this still apply if I do the reinstall as a fresh install on different hardware? Perhaps I misinterpreted the procedure but it looks as though the XG software perhaps registers the licence against some form of hardware identifiers so would fail if I tried to use the same licence on both 'development' and then subsequently 'production' machines?

    (Sorry if I'm just being daft and misunderstood the licencing mechanism)

    Colin,

    for SW version (SW and Home Installation) I was able to reinstall using the same ISO and the same serial more than one time on different HW (virtual to my own HW; my own HW to Virtual).

    For HW Appliances, the serial number of the appliance will be used so you cannot move the license from one appliance to another without contacting Sophos Sales.
