Help - HTTP Error 502 Bad Gateway

Getting the sporadic dreaded 502 gateway errors when web browsing.  I'm new to this XG115.  From what I understand this is typically caused by a bug in the Web Content Filtering?  True?

So I have a very basic setup for this SMB. So in my LAN to WAN policy the Policy for User Applications is set to:

Application Control: Allow All
Web Filter: Allow All
Intrusion Prevention: generalpolicy
Traffic shaping: none

So it seems that even with "Allow All" this 502 issue can still happen.  If I need a quick fix before doing an update on the firmware (it's on V15.01.0 MR-1-1) would setting it to None instead of "Allow All" alleviate the problem in the short term until I turn it back to "Allow All" ?  If I'm "Allowing All" what's the difference between that and "None" ??

I just bought it 2 weeks ago and see there's already a V15 and V16 update.  Will update most likely take care of it?

  • v16 has many improvements and may resolve this.

When a client receives a 502 they usually also get a small string of text with a status message.  Sometimes this is quite helpful diagnosing certain problems, other times it is not.

Use FireFox F12 Developer Tools Net tab, or curl -v to see.
