Slow inter VLAN file transfer

Hello Community,

i´am new in using the Sophos Xg Firewall. I tryed it with my own Hadware (Jetway JNF9D-2550). (Build 16.01.02).

I create one VLAN (for my Nasbox). What i monitored is a really slow speed when i transfer Files (From LAN to VLAN) Vlan to VLAN). When i connect my computer to the same Vlan the speed is normal.

Both (netgear Switch (GS108PE) and the XG are connected with 1GB. i Have no Rule with a speed limit. Only a Rule to allow the traffic. I attached a screenshot from the bandwith Monitor (File transfer from lan to vlan 2 GB). Can you help me to find the problem.

  • I believe I am having the same issue; slow VLAN to VLAN throughput. I am only able to max out at ~600 Mbps when I have LACP on two ports for 2 Gbps. When I remove the XG from the equation by moving the two machines to the same VLAN I am able to get the full 2 Gbps. The hardware on the XG that i'm testing with is an Intel Core-i7 2600, 8GB RAM, and a Intel I340-T4 quad port NIC. On the XG, the CPU never goes above 10% utilization and RAM at 35%.

I have IPS enabled on other rules but not the rule for this traffic to my NAS. I have attached a screenshot of my rule:

  • Marcel,

Try a test with stopping the ips service under system services.

    Thanks
