Where are the release notes for AP firmware 6.0.001?

Hi all

In order to properly handle changes, I need (as user Luk some months ago) the release notes for the new AP firmware 6.0.001. I am unable to find any relevant information, not in the Appendix F (of SFOS15), nor in the Release Announcement of SFOS 16.01.2, and neither on the Online Help of SFOS 16.01.2.

I truly would hope for Sophos to understand that WLAN as critical part of a IT infrastructure cannot be upgraded on a "feels good to have the newest and greatest firmware" motivation. Release notes should be easy to find.

Looking forward to advice,
- Maurice

  • I saw it and as already said forwarded to our product management. In the meanwhile I try to find a workaround for you.

When I wrote it's already in the release notes, I missed the fact that in XG we have the firmware as pattern. General changes in RED/Wireless are already in the changelog, but firmware specific changes are NOT. Sorry about my mistake here.

Thanks for your input. Always appreciated.

  • While they might part of firmware, knowing was fixed in the firmware release would be good instead of guessing.

Not only do you have to manually load, you have no reason why?

All other firmware is automatically installed but not AP or RED. Consistency is not a great model here.

So, you need to decide if it is firmware automatically install it or if it is not firmware move the function to the package install sub-menu.

By the way we are now up to V8.0x in AP firmware.

  • Thanks Talex for giving back here.

I like the option to update AP and RED firmware as patterns (so in this way we do not need to update firmware only because a new AP/RED firmware has to be installed).

We are looking forward to hearing from you.
