XG210 HA Cluster with Gateway Load Balancing

We want to setup 2 XG210's in an HA Cluster, with multiple ISP's (Internet Service Providers) going to each device for Gateway load balancing. Since a virtual MAC is used in an HA cluster, is it possible to mesh the ISP connections directly to each firewall (no switch between the ISP modem and xg firewalls). Basically we would directly connect ISP1 to Firewall1 and Firewall2 port 4, and ISP2 would go to Firewall1 and Firewall2 Port 5.  Does anyone see why this wouldn't work without a switch between ISP modem and the XG Firewall?
