Bug in V16 GA wifi reported during V16 beta not fixed (AP55 5ghz)

During the last beta release I reported a bug with the AP55 5ghz band.

I was able to test this for the short time I had an internet connection. Local telco has removed my connections again.

I am not able to locate my original post, but basically the auto channel assignment disables the 5ghz wifi until you disable and re-enable the auto feature with time slots. This then disables all wifi access for about 5 minutes while the XG reconfigures all bands even though you only change one band.

  • Hi Aditya,

no bug reference or report, I am a home user. This is not related to the 6mb/s issue.

Initially after the upgrade using the last two XG firmware releases the 5hghz channel is not available until to you disable then re-enable the auto channel time based scanning. After you do this all wifi connections are dropped on both 2.4 and 5ghz.

I am unable to provide access to my XG at this stage, the internet connection is broken again.

    Edited, corrected grammar.

  • Hi ,

Seems you have experienced the issue with BUG ID NC-12265  which is related to an issue of SSID stops broadcasting when Time based scan is enabled.  This issue is resolved with version 16 Beta 5 launched last month .

Please check the version info and let us know if you are still facing the issue .

    Thanks and Regards

  • I installed 109 when the incident re-occurred. I think I had installed 16 b5 before I went on holidays.

I will check version numbers tonight.

  • latest version of XG installed today and the 5ghz channels came back online after the restart without fiddling with the AP settings.

    One bug down.
