Thank you for supporting my request.
I live in Germany and here, for example, An invoice by e-mail as binding. It must therefore never happen that e-mails are not answered.
Legally it must be that the transmission is canceled, because only then the e-mail has not been received.
I still use Spamdyke - the best tool when it comes to the technical verification of e-mails. With Spamdyke the RBL tests take place during the transmission of the e-mail.
Hi Ulrich and Luk,
When the Email Scanning Rules are configured to Reject as action then a notification will be sent to the sender. If the action is configured to Drop the Email then no notification will be sent to either sender or receiver. Look in Protection > Email Protection > Scanning Rules > Content Scanning Rules.
Thanks

I can not find the point "Scanning Rules -> Content scanning rules". I have the Sophos XG Firewall with the firmware SFOS 16.01.1.
Under "Protect -> Email -> Policies -> MyPolicyName" there is "Spam Protection" and "Malware Protection".
With "Malware Protection" one can switch on the notification of the sender. In "Spam Protection" unfortunately not. Also with "File Protection". In "Data Protection" there is the possibility to inform the sender again.
Also in the "General Settings -> Advanced SMTP Settings" is missing the possibility to inform the sender.
Conclusion: There should always be the possibility to inform the sender. Only this way no e-mail will be lost. False Positivs unfortunately always occur again.
Hi Ulrich,
Brilliant discovery, in v15 we had the option to reject the inbound SMTP/S emails which notify the sender. I realized that the same feature is not available in v16!
A workaround for this would be to quarantine the inbound SMTP/S mail rather then dropping it. this will enable User to check him quarantined mail account through User portal and release the valid emails.
I would love to see the notification feature back for SMTP/S and I support your views. Please raise it as a feature request.
Thanks
Ulrich,
We need to open a feature request on: http://ideas.sophos.com/forums/330219-sophos-xg-firewall
because the feature is missing: [:(]
I will give you my vote.
Thanks.
I have created a Feature Request and am looking forward to your support.
