I have successfully configured Legacy mode for email protection with a single firewall rule and it successfully passes email traffic to the mail server (this is the current 'working' configuration) and mxtoolbox diagnostics show it is transparently passing the connection to the mailserver.
When I disable the firewall rule and then switch to MTA mode, a auto-created firewall rule is added to the top of the firewall, however when I test with mxtoolbox diagnostics, the connection times out with no response from the MTA.
I have tried to get all settings as back to default (or off) as possible, and it doesn't seem to have any effect.
Am I missing something?
