how to access sophos xg 135 using a browser remotely

Hi All,

My old firewall, I could access it using only the browser by typing "remote.domain.com:444"

I want to know how can I setup my sophos to be accessed the same way on the browser?

Please assist, much help appreciated.

  • Jan,

Web Admin is disabled by default on WAN zone. Go to Administration > Device Access and enable WebAdmin on WAN zone.

Remember that allowing WebAdmin from WAN can be risky. Use a VPN instead.

    Thanks

  • I'm very new to XG but rather familiar with UTM, in UTM there is an option to enter "allowed" IPs that are able to connect to webadmin from external without making a VPN-connection. Is there still a possibility to do the same for XG or is it just all or nothing from WAN?

Under the Administration > Device Access you can use ACL Exception Rule to allow Webadmin page from only allowed IP. Allowing Web Interface from WAN is not a best practice.
