General Business Category Blocked

We have our XG430 Firewalls mostly setup and functioning but do receive strange reports from time to time about sites that are blocked by the firewall in the category "General Business" however, that category is not actively being blocked. 

Where else can I look to see why sites in this category are blocked.

    You would need to check the rule for your host traffic is allow/denied. To check which policy and Rule ID , you would need to conduct a simple test . Go to System >  Diagnostics > Packet Capture , select Configure and enter the BPF String for the website you are facing issue with  e.g host xyz.com.  After enabling the packet capture open the URL in your web browser and check the Rule ID . 

    Check the firewall rule with the Rule ID and verify the Web/ Application filter , You may also check the Log Viewer under System > Diagnosics> Log Viewer and filter the system's host address you are testing . If the URL is denied under Web-filter/ Application Filter then you may need to allow it . 

    If it does not work out, then DM me the snaps of the Packet Capture , Rule configuration and Log Viewer .

  • As a note, to fix this issue I had to move the allow Category Rule to the second position of the Category Name list in Web Filter Policies (Protection --> Web Protection --> Web Filter Policies --> (My Policy)

    The strange this is that I have some other category rules further down in the list that I know work and this category is not specifically denied anywhere in the list.
